Ann Lister Bramwell was born 19th March 1901 at 22 Clayton Street in Gateshead England, the last of 14 children
born to William Lister Bramwell and Ann Brown between 1874 and 1901.

Thomas Patrick McCretton was born 19th February 1901 in Gateshead County Durham England.

Twelve days after Annie was born, the 1901 census took place and as you can see, if you click on the link for 1901 census in the menu column, her parents William and Ann, had not yet decided on a name for her, only marking her down on the census form as "Baby".



Thomas and Ann were married 21st May 1919 at St Cuthberts Parish Church in Gateshead and both stated their age as 21 but as they were both born in 1901, they were actually only 18 years old.
They were next door neighbours when they were married, living at 88 and 90 Bensham Road in Gateshead.



Ann and Thomas had three children, all girls, Gladys born in 1920, Irene born in 1924 and Patricia.
